In elementary, we took trips to The Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village, the Detroit Science Center, the zoo, and the Jiffy Mix factory in Chelsea, Michigan. Our kids don't go on many field trips these days, maybe one a year, although I don't recall my 1st grader going on any trips last year.

Lisa
joyincooking.blogspot.comLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12240940484717185870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-64002330328617954162009-09-18T08:55:59.177-04:002009-09-18T08:55:59.177-04:00I remember lots of trips: rubber factories, circus...I remember lots of trips: rubber factories, circus, zoo, historical homes...the one that left the most lasting impression was the trip to the local potato chip and salty snack factory. Seeing a worker dressed in a "space suit" in a room of popcorn with a garden hose, spraying "cheddar cheese" all over the corn was just the coolest!!! The bag of fresh, warm chips at the end was pretty nice, too. Of course, that was in the mid 1960's...I'm sure times have changed!Pilarnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-20144094651324278652009-09-18T07:51:59.873-04:002009-09-18T07:51:59.873-04:00We didn't have many field trips. In elementary school I remember going on only one, to a book fair at a university an hour away.

I don't remember having any field trips in high school, although some of my extra-curriculars involved competitions in other places. I guess those were the closest thing to field trips that we had "back in the day".Annie Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07123644833186800503noreply@blogger.com
