They were too expensive for my large family's budget and too tough for my mom's taste (since both parents wanted all meat well done).

I like a good steak now and then (medium rare), but still prefer a nice roast beef over steak.Annie Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07123644833186800503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-53736242389512315442008-06-06T01:29:00.000-04:002008-06-06T01:29:00.000-04:00Hee hee, condiment deprived! No one knows why.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14519799778366176741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-26518623243906391382008-06-05T21:36:00.000-04:002008-06-05T21:36:00.000-04:00Maybe a couple of times a month. I feel nervous about cooking steak since I never make it. I always feel like it's going to come out dry and tasteless.
Seems like this recipe might be the reason to give it a try.Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11259640913845569431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-61472534794577010442008-06-05T11:37:00.000-04:002008-06-05T11:37:00.000-04:00We had it a lot, but it was always round steak, pa...We had it a lot, but it was always round steak, pan fried. My father didn't like chicken so we never had it and we never had fish. So it was always some sort of beef. I also had round steak at my grandmother's a lot. She would broil (!!??!) it. I can't imagine why it wasn't tough as a boot. I remember that she would always put butter and lemon juice on it when it was done.

JanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-71287326405976153862008-06-04T22:16:00.000-04:002008-06-04T22:16:00.000-04:00You have been tagged, my dear :)You have been tagged, my dear :)Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11141963862255668111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-7813650845357712452008-06-04T18:05:00.000-04:002008-06-04T18:05:00.000-04:00My parents would have steak (once in a blue moon) ...My parents would have steak (once in a blue moon) and us kids would get hotdogs or hamburgers. So I honestly didn't really like steak until I got older and started getting better cuts and cooking it medium rare.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-40274611479759275352008-06-04T10:25:00.000-04:002008-06-04T10:25:00.000-04:00We had it more often than one would think, with fo...We had it more often than one would think, with four kids and all. But my mother worked in the States and shopped over there where the prices were better and the money went further. Sometimes they went in on a side of beef with other people and filled the freezer. Cheaper cuts mostly, usually baked in the oven. As we got older, we had better steaks cooked on the grill.DancesInGardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10516526687504692899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-61042575482367409572008-06-04T09:14:00.000-04:002008-06-04T09:14:00.000-04:00Yes, we had steak fairly often.Yes, we had steak fairly often.Wandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05762254137339310890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16517408.post-33595184236924271882008-06-04T08:54:00.000-04:002008-06-04T08:54:00.000-04:00I didn't, but I think my mom did.
