One of my new personal favorites
Cherry Chip Bars
The Ugly Binder
1 box cherry chip cake mix
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
chocolate chips (put in as many as you like)
Mix well and put in a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15-20 min. or until light brown. Can double recipe and bake on cookie sheet.

This is the first recipe that I've posted in a while and it's not even from a cookbook. I found it on Our Recipe Box, which has a much more enticing picture. I was trying to use up a box of cherry chip cake mix that I had picked up at some point. I happen to love that almondy fake-cherry flavor and it goes great with chocolate so these were a winner in my opinion (and everyone else's actually). It took quite a bit of willpower to resist eating the entire batch of them.
If you really want me to start cooking again, maybe if all of my readers send good thoughts that one of the townhouses that I want to rent opens up, it might help!
Oh lots of good thoughts for the townhouse being sent all the way over to you! Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteHahaha - word verification is decesess. Maybe it's a hint that one is indeed going to open up! (Was that in really poor taste? Sorry,I thought it was hilarious!)
Good luck with the townhouse and your surgery this week.
ReplyDeleteI still check every day to see if you posted anything new :) My fingers are crossed for you on the townhouse
ReplyDeleteLots of good thoughts going your way for the townhouse.
ReplyDeleteYum, I love that fake almond cherry flavor too but I never thought of pairing it with chocolate. I bet my family will love this--one daughter loves chocolate with strawberry, chocolate with cherry and chocolate with blueberries. I will definitely have to make this for her. Thanks for the recipe.
Sending major good thoughts that you get the townhouse! We want more recipes (so it's pretty selfish of us isn't it :)
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I think your picture looks way more appetizing than the one on the Recipe Box. These look like they would be quick and yummy. I don't currently have a cherry chip cake mix but one just might jump in my cart next time I'm at the grocery store....like tomorrow! LOL
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed that a townhouse comes available for you. I'm not on Facebook so I'm not sure what surgery you're facing. I hope it's minor. Good Luck.
Sending good thoughts and wishes for both your townhouse and your surgery!
