This isn't beef stew

Creamy Coleslaw
Betty Crocker Cookbook New Edition Copyright 2005

½ cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
¼ cup sour cream
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon celery seed
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ medium head cabbage, thinly sliced or chopped (4 cups)
1 small carrot, shredded (1/2 cup)
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup) I used red onion

1. In large glass or plastic bowl, mix all ingredients except cabbage, carrot and onion. Add remaining ingredients; toss until evenly coated.
2. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour to blend flavors. Store covered in refrigerator.

Makes 8 servings.

Today's post was supposed to be about last night's beef stew but Blogger wasn't cooperating with the picture load so have some cole slaw instead.

This was actually a good slaw. I loved the Dijon mustard in this. It gave it a bit of heat. This was definitely one of the better cole slaws I've made.

This is going to be short today. I had a crazy morning and my head is pounding. A simple flu shot turned into a big to-do since my son tested slightly positive for an egg allergy since his last flu shot (he did have the flu shot today, he didn't have a reaction).

I use Peppermint oil I get from the health food store - rub a couple of drops on my temples and under my nose - works every time!

I either do nothing or take an Advil. Usually, I wait it out and go to morning, no headache! If you aren't where you can take anything, put pressure at the base of your skull just outside those middle muscles. Sometimes this helps.
BTW, the slaw looks good and I happen to have a half head of cabbage in the refrigerator...but the weather is just not slaw weather! Maybe again when it's sunny...RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!

For headaches, I try to lay down since most of the time my headaches are due to lack of sleep. Or I will take something.
Chocolate can be the cure for almost anything.

You can also apply pressure to the fatty part of you hand at the base of your thumb. Press your forefinger and thumb together around it (does that make sense?) and move them around a bit until you get to the really tender bit. Apply pressure to that point and your headache should subside somewhat.

Failing that a couple of mild, over-the-counter type painkillers.

I take whatever pain relievers I can get my hands on. I tend to have some vicious headaches. Ages ago, if I could just go to sleep, even for a very short time, they would go away, or lessen greatly, but now, if I go to sleep with an unmedicated headache, I wake up with it, but 10 times worse.
